Yeah, we can try removing the alt and title attributes from the ./mods/gravatar/templates/emerald/gravatar_img_read.tpl template and see if that works. I attached a replacement template which removes the alt and title attributes from the image. Save this template as:
./mods/gravatar/templates/emerald/gravatar_img_read.tpl

My guess is that there is a module incompatibility. I run most of the same modules as you, so I will check the ones I don't with gravatar.
